"As the deer panteth for the water so my soul longeth after Thee..." I remember this being one of my favourite songs growing up in Sunday School...I loved it for the tune not really understanding the depth of the words I was singing. It's like that even today with many songs...I utter words I don't really give great thought to but every now and then I remember to stop and think...to ponder and let the revelation set in...I should do that more...I should do that with every passage I read in the bible too...meditate upon it and allow the truth to overtake the lies I've allowed myself to be oppressed by all these years - the lies that have trapped me in chains of irrational fear. Fitting that today's verse on Biblegateway should be one written by David on thirsting after more of God's presence in His life and hunger for the Word of God.
Speaking of fears - during altar call today God showed the person who prayed for me a picture of a person trapped in a room, afraid of reaching out towards the door and stepping out. The message was that the door would open and that the person could step out with faith towards that which God was calling the person to. There is no need for apprehension - for doubt and unbelief - but a soft heart willing to trust in God's prompting...over these years I have been in Brisbane, this is the third vision given to me that speaks of a room, of darkness and a contrast of light at the other side, of fear and the need for faith. God has spoken much to me, promised me much, encouraged me much, challenged me...and waited for me to simply respond...well, I'm going to start taking my life back from the devil and begin moving to the next level with God! Shaky but I am going to trust God that I will find a firm footing in Him! Amen!
