This year

My prayer is that...

This year I shall not dream or imagine or pray as if I do not know You.
This year I shall not invite darkness into my mind
or surround myself with discouragement and disillusionment.
This year I shall know You more deeply and enter into Your rest.
This year I shall allow You to shape my thoughts
and plans and visions of the future.
This year I shall step out a little more in faith and learn to wait and listen for Your timing and simply trust in Your goodness and grace.
This year I need to find You and not rely on my own strength and understanding anymore.

In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and he answered by setting me free. The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? (a Psalm 118 verse)

Lord, set me free from my fears, from my fear of men over You, from my insecurities. I shall fix my eyes and mind on You Lord so that the things of this world will become mere shadows to be forgotten in Your glorious light.
