the packing continues

We're not done yet. Fab has been diligently assembling furniture. We've now got bed side tables and two extra bookshelves. There is so much to sort through, arrange and keep away in some logical fashion. I managed to get to one and half bookshelves last night. Progress has been slow as we're at work in the day and have other commitments on various weeknights plus Church camp was the weekend passed so we haven't had much time to just get to things. Really need to put it all away and make the place feel like the home we both want as right now I feel rather unsettled looking at the piles of items lining the floor boards. There are still cardboard boxes masking belongings that need to be pried open and repacked.

Fab gathered all our stationery items together and gave them a nice new home in an old set of drawers which fits snugly beside the added bookshelves against the study wall. We bought glass doors for those shelves to keep out the dust. Cool thing about the doors is, they double up as large picture frames. You can choose to have the backing be in black or white. Somehow the black looks more classy plus it matches the black set of three small drawers in which the stationery is now residing. We'll put more thought into the photos and memorabilia that will make it to those frames at a later time. Decorating has to come last with all that needs to be organised.

I am so blessed to have married a man who does not think sitting idle and making a profession out of being a couch potato is the way to go. He's constantly keeping house along with me and never fails to ask if I need help with anything. He takes great initiative and pampers me by grabbing the dirty dishes off me, taking out the garbage, vacuuming, keeping the laundry when I'm occupied with something else and the list goes on. He even irons his own shirts every morning! (Yes, I hear all you ladies sigh or snarl in envy) Plenty of room for me to grow into my wifely role.

As Fab puts it, we have a love-hate relationship with the place we now call home. It's conveniently located within a quiet neighbourhood, is the perfect size for us with loads of room for storage, boasts of three bathrooms, has access to the estate pool and is well ventilated. However, sections of the floorboard squawk due to the way the house is constructed. Though the area is quiet and you hardly hear the neighbours, you can hear them if they or their TVs and audio systems were to make a sound (which means they can hear us! Rather disconcerting when you realise their bedroom and ours are only separated by a thin wall...so we usually talk in the kitchen or living room or study (you get the drift). And for those of you with rather imaginative minds, please do not entertain wild thoughts at the sound of the word "bedroom" (Although there have been a couple of occasions where Fab and others, who stayed over in the house before I moved in , did mention overhearing our neighbours when they were being, well, amorous). Alright, let's stop there before this post gets censored.

So that's where we're up to with our personal lives. Yes, The Adventures of Fab and Jos in Married Life. Hopefully I will be blogging again soon to report that we have completed our home making project and actually start writing about all the more important things like the Church Camp on God's Amazing Grace and the honeymoon with photos in tow. Till next time, don't forget to floss your teeth! This is Jos (aka the new Mrs Then), over and out.
