Bicycle Culture

I've discovered a site about the bicycle culture that's making its way around the world...it seems it's a trend making a comeback as a cool alternative instead of a more make shift mode of transportation for the less wealthy. Makes me want to own a bicycle and ride it around town. Well, almost...a riding-hood red. Something cute yet mid-sporty that would match a pair of white Keds with a giant bright red (and green stalk) apple adorning the front. First, can someone teach me how to ride a bicycle and if you are reading this, I give you no permission to snicker and poke fun at my lack of coordination and motor skills. This is a good trend...we ought to support it. Why? Because it's earth-friendly...bicycles give out no exhaust to pollute the air and damage the environment with oil leaks and harmful gases that pummel our poor lungs. If everyone rode a bicycle (you could get the double kind for couples and the ones with added buggy things for kids), there would be fewer major accidents causing deaths as bicycles slamming head on, if ever, have minimal collateral...we'd learn to swerve with style and be considerate to pedestrians because no one wants to tip over side ways and land on the cold tarmac anyway. We'd all be healthy once we've gotten over the body aches in the weeks leading up to us getting used to the strain. The only pitfall then would be speed and going the really long distances (like interstate road trips) although we could all just train to be those super-fit atheletes...hmmm, the idealism in that. I'd dread making it to the Coast alone...plus we'd have to invent a way to stay warm and dry when the weather turns...I'll give it more thought and maybe post an idea or two.
